BOSTON LEGAL dead?

Have any of you heard whether or not BOSTON LEGAL is coming back? I hope it does. Because until a STAR TREK series ever comes back, Boton Legal is the only real star trek show on. Anyone seen Capt Maxwell ( think that's who he was ) on BL last week? He was the Captain of the ship that was nearly starting a war with the Cardassians and Obrien had to talk him out of it...good actor.

It's been getting respectable ratings, but there's been no word one way or another yet, as far as I know. I hope it stays. I haven't seen this season, but I really enjoy Boston Legal on DVD.

There are a lot of ex-Star Trek actors on Boston Legal, but I wouldn't go so far to say it's a "Star Trek show", especially not a "real" one.

There is a new episode on tonight at 10.

The problem with the show is ABC hates it (Yes they do), and treats it like trash, but more importantly the show costs a lot for the actors. I think it's certain that we will at least get 13 episodes next season to end the show and keep the cost down.

But the ratings are great for a 10pm show on ABC.

^ Why would ABC hate it? It wins award after award, 'fer cryin out loud. And it does well in the ratings for the time slot it's in.

James Spader and William Shatner have been moving the Best Actor Emmy from house to house for how many years now???

Yeah...I would imagine those two, plus Candace Bergen, makes for a pretty expensive show. But you get what you pay for...and that is a really good, and well acted show.

Please don't start an "ABC hates it/ no it doesn't/yes it does" debate here. It's already in about 1000 other threads.

I don't want to continue with "that" debate, but I do have to wonder why ABC doesn't support it all that well. I mean it's either always missing, or being moved or on hiatus. I don't think they've had a full month this season in which it was all new episodes. They probably have, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

I have been a fan of this show from day one. But business is business. It has a core audience of nearly 10 million, which is okay, but not great. And that even holds when it follows DANCING WITH THE STARS. It just can't get past the 10-11 mil number.

BUT!!! It has rich-liberal fans, which is why you see all kinds of Lexus commericals and other high end items.

:wtf::wtf::rolleyes:

David E Kelly seems to think BL will get a 5th and final season and it looks that way.

BL is ABC's 2nd highest rated 10pm show after Brother n Sisters.

Jeez...must not have read ANY of those 1,000 threads.

Please forgive me for asking a serious question that I was genuinely interested in the answer to. I wasn't aware of the fact that reading every BL thread that ever was was a pre-requisite for participation in this one.

10 million is great for a show. NBC would love to have those numbers, it just costs to much and ABC hates the show and treats it like shit.

If they didn't hate the show they would treat it a hell of a lot better.

Thank god for that...

I suggest Kelly starts to wrap up things and lets hope the 5th and most likely final season of BOSTON LEGAL will let the show goout with style.

Season 4 has been all over the place, and they shouldn't push their luck and just use the next season to end it and maybe make another spinoff! :)

I don't think its been too all over the place and once again there has been so real amazing episodes this season. However despite my enjoyment I would say 22 more episodes would be the best way to end it though a little extra season would be great too like 23/24.

Now, can they put it on at a time when it won't be pre-empted with stupid crap all of the time?

What's your point? No, seriously, if you're gonna answer like this it should be obvious what you mean, but you quoted so much stuff I can't tell exactly what you're referring to. So I don't know what this means.

 As if your insignificant ramblings even matter.
