I'm guessing it will either be, of course, 5-4 against, or 4-4-1 with someone actually recusing themselves or sustaining, so Alan will still lose.

Knowing the writers of BL they will forget all about the case and never bring it up again.

Your confused. The writers always remember cases. It's the characters they forget, bigdaddy! ;)

Paul? Paul who? Brad? Denise? Coho? I don't know what tongues you're speaking in?*

*Yes, I realize some of these characters had actual exits, or were brought back, but really...

Or Alan will win the case by unanimous decision of the Supreme Court because the judges decided to agree with him just for the heck of it. ;)

I was suprised that this was actually an advertised episode. I saw several promos for it on ABC during the course of the day (ABC was on in the background while we made phone calls about voting in PA).

THERE WERE ADS?!?! :wtf:

The first ad for Boston Legal I have seen in years was at 10:20 in the middle of Boston Legal. :)
Yes. There was one during the afternoon news. I saw three during the soap opera block - DID I MENTION I HATE CAMPAIGN POLLING CALL CENTERS! And there were two during Oprah.

"Boston Legal" is one of my must watch series and this episode in particular is one of the reasons why. David E. Kelley apparently never meant this show to be realistic, hence all the self-referential comments and wacky characters. This is Kelley's fun show and a chance for him to spout off on any number of topics. And while I can see the perception some have of this being a leftist show, I would also point to the episode a few weeks ago in which the environmental movement is taken to task.

Anyway, back to this ep, Alan's rant (read Kelley's rant) was both outrageous and reverential. Anyone who's been paying attention the last few years should realize that, on some level, it is also accurate. Again, for those who would say that he took a very leftist view, I would also remind you that he mentions both sides have played politics with The Court. And what else is a fictional character like Alan Shore going to do in front of the highest court in the land? It would have been out of character for him to act any other way. It would be like not having Kirk deliver a big moralistic speech at the end of every episode (also usually leftist in some way).

The secondary story I found very touching, actually. I feel for Jerry and his dilemma. I'm guessing the prostitute character will be back.

Anyway, my two cents. Feel free to disagree.
