Pull-out type? Definitely check that. If the screen is detached or torn, replace it and have the exhaust line cleaned.Slightly different location on mine, but still easy to access. As I said, I'm lazy.

I just don't know what happened, Saul. I hit my head at the airport and some kind soul must've placed me on a transport.

Bump for great justice. And great embarrassment for myself.
The dryer got fixed the other day. Wanna know what was wrong?
Safety cut-out got tripped 'cos the machine got too hot. Solution? Press the reset button. 2 minute job once you know. At least the guy who came out discounted his usual call-out charge.
The machine's manual was no use; I'd never have known about the cut-out button from it - you actually have to open up the machine's innards to find it. But I'll know for next time, and at least I don't need to replace the whole machine so I've actually saved money, really. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.
Other things I learnt: my washer-dryer (and apparently most dryers sold here) don't have a venting system, but rather they have an internal condenser. Also means you don't need to check the lint filter as often, since it's all just washed away with the condensed water, which explains why my machine didn't build up much lint despite me not checking it for months.

The only "problem" is that I mentally set aside some cash over the past couple of weeks or so for repairs/replacement... and now I'm very tempted just to blow it on a new jacket or something.
Yeah, surprised me too - I'd have figured it would have fallen foul of some environmental protection law or other. But I guess it all goes into the sewage works for reprocessing anyway, along with much worse than lint, so...
