Spoilers Borg probe?

F. King Daniel

I'm surprised nobody else is thinking the "Light and Darkness" 500-years-future probe that attacked Pike and Ash's shuttle could be Borg?

The probe was assimilated and upgraded, and I'm pretty sure it was assimilating the shuttle, certainly it's database. And now it's in Airiam...

i thought i heard a borg sound effect in the mix this week during that scene myself. and both AVclub and io9 speculated this could all be leading up to a reintroduction to the borg.

i wouldn’t hate seeing them again if it’s done in a clever way. but wouldn’t the producers save the borg for the picard show?

The tentacles were BORG-ish, but the probes themselves were more VGER-ish so who knows.

I'm hoping it has more to do with the Beings that upgraded Voyager-VI.
(the planet we saw along with Spock inside of VGER)

Not all that thrilled with the BORG being used again, but I can live with it if that's what They have chosen.

I got the whole Matrix vibe, and not the good "original" Matrix, but the bad "sequels" Matrix vibe.
So if whole plot of Season 2 really turns into "save the earth from being destroyed in one possible future because one silly non-sentient probe launched in 23rd century mutated into EVIL aliens" I will laugh so hard. What an idiotic premise. :barf:
