Besides, it wouldn't take long for the Borg to adapt defenses to most of what the Founders could do. Yeah, the Founders could make bladed weapons like the T-1000. Big deal. See how far you get against the Borg by picking a knife fight with them. Saying the Borg can't take the Founders because they've got knives is like saying they can't take a medieval society cause everyone's packing a sword. They'll either start making Borg which're more resistant to bladed weapons, or much more simply, they'll just start putting up force fields to protect themselves against any attack levelled against them, from energy weapons to bladed weapons.

ok, i seem to remember in first contact one Jean Luc Picard killing a couple of borg with a tommy gun. dont you think that among all the worlds the borg conquered that NOBODY used primitive weapons against them? shouldnt they already have adapted defences to deal with hand to hand combat?? i mean just freaking shoot arrows into their faces!! i'll tell you what. forget the Dominion for a moment. I'll take the top 20 UFC fighters packing knives and knuckledusters over any 20 borg.
i cant imagine the borg beating a compliment of skilled klingons armed with batlefs.

Well, our heroes have used standard phasers at them numerous times. Yet standard phasers still always get the first two or three of them in the next encounter.

So the Drones obviously don't wear any pre-adaptations, but prefer to travel light. Any weapon will get the first two of them, in a process that probably is beneficial to the Collective: they sacrifice a couple of Drones to find out what sort of heat the opponent is packing, and then proceed to smite him.

It's not as if our heroes ever get more than two or three Drones per battle in hand-to-hand, either. They appear to adapt by simply swarming the heroes... And slaughtering the weekly redshirts. Even when Worf manages to club a Drone down in one scene, said Drone no doubt pops up again as soon as Worf's back is turned, and rejoins the fray. After all, there are only about eight distinct "corridor Drone" actors in ST:FC!
