Borg cube model

So I had this small Voyager for more than 20 years and only recently built it (5 parts, not much of a build lol)

(Its Revell number 6900, you can read all about it here )

I thought it's too small and uninteresting. And I really like the episode Scorpion so I had the idea of building a Borg cube and place them together like this:

According to a quick research, a Borg cube in the same scale of the Voyager model would be unreasonably large, so to hell with scale.

I'll use these fantastically adequate materials I happen to have: CD cases and computer parts boards:

As any Star Trek ship, this one will need structural reinforcement. These rulers will do.

And since Borgs aren't Borgs without that sick green, some green LEDs.

The cube is done at last (the glue I used takes forever to set). The Structural Reinforcement Devices are in place too.

I frosted the surface with sandpaper. But I screwed up: the resistors I used are too resistive, therefore the LEDs are too dim. No way around that now.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Had to put the project aside for some time.

I thought I had a can full of black paint, but I'm out after just one side of the cube. Printed circuit boards apparently don't take paint too well, but I'm sure the Borg wouldn't care.

Sprue is too thick at that scale. I think you could melt sprue into thin wires for the layers.

A Borg cube is not to be just a solid box with surface detail--there should be layers...empty spaces somehow. But in terms of surface details
