BORED!

Coincidentally, I just saw an article recently saying how boredom is actually suppressed anger.

I'll see if I can find that...

Here it is: Being bored can be bad for health, study says

LONDON - Can you really be bored to death?
In a commentary to be published in the International Journal of Epidemiology in April, experts say there's a possibility that the more bored you are, the more likely you are to die early...

"...Boredom is not innocuous," said Sandi Mann, a senior lecturer in occupational psychology at the University of Central Lancashire who studies boredom.
She said boredom is linked to anger suppression, which can raise blood pressure..."

I boredom comes from frustration. If there's something you want to do, but for some reason can't or don't, then you get bored.

I know when I feel bored, there's usually I really want to do or wish to do, but for various reasons, can't. Or, at work, being forced to do something very repetitive can be a real chore, and that can be very boring, but it's mostly because it makes me think of all the things I'd rather be doing.

I'm bored right now, and it's definitely from frustration. Want to start a new project, but there are too many distractions around and I can't concentrate to do it right. And this is the only other thing I can think to do... work on getting my 50 posts so I can prove I'm not a spammer. :p

When I get bored I just usually get even more bored thinking about things that I really don't want to do, but could entertain me, yet I decide not doing them because I'd probably just get annoyed. When I'm REALLY really bored I go make myself a nice mug of coffee and start drawing something.

That or come here revive old topics to pass time.

Come over to the The Movie Game in TV/Media.

I don't get bored, but I do feel stuck in a rut, sometimes. When that happens, I try to pack the family up for a day-trip on a Saturday or Sunday. One thing you can say about living in the DC area is there is plenty to do within a very short drive in any direction.

Funny about people coming to these boards when they're bored. I find it's just the opposite for me. I come here to procrastinate. I've had a bunch of papers to go through sitting on my desk for the last two days. I hate grading. And these last two days have seen some my heaviest posting here since ST09 came out.
