Borderlands 3: Mask of Mayhem

This is one of the few games I have on the "impatiently waiting for the sequel" list.

Pretty good at resisting the buying on day 1 or pre-ordering of games these days. Might just have to put that aside for my boi Claptrap

Plus The Handsome collection is getting the 4k HDR updates across the board, so XBX/pro gamers gettting i nice free bonus updates.

I might have to give the first one another go. I got it on sale from the Playstation Store ages ago, and started but ended up getting bored. I did start a second try, but ended up getting sidetracked right away. Maybe the third time will be the charm.

it's cool that they're giving out the remaster to owners of the OG game (similar to the Skyrim remaster)

the BL1 GOTY remaster is going to be cool for us as well on Xbox One X, we only ever played the base game on 360 so all the DLC will be new to us :techman:

Looks like BL3 is going to be an Epic Store exclusive for about 6 months if reports are correct. Epic Store is pretty trash so unless the gifts they bundle with it are pretty good I'll probably just wait it out until it comes to other platforms. Though of course it isn't always a bad thing waiting for a while given the state many games are at release these days.

Same happened with Bioshock 1 and 2 on Steam...

Steam said:
Borderlands: Game of the Year Enhanced OUT NOW!

If you already own the original Borderlands on Steam, you’re all set! Borderlands: Game of the Year Enhanced should already be in your Steam library absolutely free!

What’s New
  • Visually Remastered: The improved lighting, textures, and character models shine on PC. Enhancements apply to the base game, as well as all add-on content.
  • Quality of Life Improvements: Significant updates to the game’s supporting systems allow for a smoother overall experience. For example:
  • -- A Borderlands 2-style mini-map, which you can toggle on and off, has been added to complement the original compass
  • -- Substantial improvements to the inventory system—such as allowing you to “lock” weapons or mark them as “junk”—simplify item management
  • -- Items like ammo, money, and health now auto-pick up from the ground
  • Rewards Ready: With the addition of the SHiFT player rewards program, you can now use Golden Keys to unlock special in-game items and rewards. Returning SHiFT users who’ve played Borderlands 2 or The Pre-Sequel on PC will receive 75 free Golden Keys, as well as two randomly selected all-new weapons, for their first newly-created Vault Hunter.
  • Added Firepower: A new set of six named, custom-skinned Legendary weapons make the base game’s arsenal even deeper. Beat bosses or gather Golden Keys for a chance to collect ‘em all.
  • Badder Boss Battle: In direct response to fan feedback, the campaign’s final boss encounter has been adjusted to be more engaging, challenging, and rewarding.
  • Cosmetic Customization: For the first time, you will be able to customize your Vault Hunter beyond simply selecting a color scheme. Each of the four available characters has five brand new cosmetic heads unlocked and equippable right from the start of the game.
  • ALL DLC: Didn’t own any Borderlands DLC? Now you got it all! On BOTH the original game and in Borderlands: Game of the Year Enhanced!

Just a fun little bonus for anyone that owns 'Borderlands 2'; They've been sneaking Shift codes into the new trailers an concept art over the past week that unlock character skins that were previously only available in the community event way back in 2013 (I think?) There's been three spotted so far, with presumably three more left to go.

^Personally, I'm not a fan of exclusivity, but at least Epic are shaking things up. With a bit of luck it just might force Valve out of their indolence.

And I'm not surprised Borderlands 3 went this way. Randy never could turn down a big pile of money.
