So, who wants to go first?

They say no one ever deliberately sets out (let alone goes out of their way) to make a bad movie… but these scathing reviews really make one wonder.

I have no knowledge of the games this is based on, but I feel if you take a horror movie director dead set on making an R-rated movie and then studios coming realizing they can't market it to a younger audience anymore.... Things are going to go wrong.

I vaguely know there is a game, which is about it - looks like an absolute stinker.

It will be on streaming in weeks given how badly it has bombed, so we can all check it out then.

The amount of times we've heard of films going from R to PG-13, or that should be R, still baffles me. I get maybe wanting to chase that PG-13 rating, but if a story warrants an R rating, just let it be R.

From a personal stand point, I agree. I also understand that studios want more cinema seats filled, so PG13 is better. However, set your movie out to be one, right? If your material is set to R and you suddenly need to cut a lot out, you're going to be left with a shit movie.

Fun fact....
Literally a few minutes after my previous post my sister texted me saying she just say this movie with her husband. 'Not great, but entertaining.'

I saw it yesterday. It starts off kind of okay, but gets worse as the movie progresses and by the end it's not particularly good at all. Plus, even as someone who has no familiarity with the video games, the plot is extremely predictable.

Looks like it's going to end up as the second lowest opening weekend for a wide mainstream release of all time.*

So it couldn't even succeed at being the worst.

*Eddie Murphy's 'The Adventures of Pluto Nash' retains the crown.

I'm familiar with the game series...

When i saw this 3 or 4 years ago i knew it was going to be a stinker:

My late wife was a big Borderlands fan so I was tempted to watch this to kind of bring back the feel of the times when she and her Xbox Live buddies played the hell out of the first two games. Based on the reviews... maybe not. Probably not.
