books set between TVH and TFF or after TFF?

I'm looking for any TrekLit dealing with the aftermath of the events surrounding TWOK-TVH, mainly Spock's death and resurrection - "The Probe" by MWB is the only novel that I can think of that's set immediately after ST IV --> are there others? Or at least novels set after TFF (since that one is about the first mission of the Ent-A I guess it takes place just weeks after TVH)?

Thanks for any recommendations! :)

In the Name of Honor by Dayton Ward
Probe by Margaret Wander Bonanno (et al)
The Rift by Peter David
Starfleet Academy by Diane Carey

Also Howie Weinstein's portion of Mere Anarchy, entitled The Blood-Dimmed Tide, takes place between the fifth and sixth films.

"The Captain's Daughter" by Peter David has sections that take place during and between the movies. In particular, 'Section IV: Parenthood - Chapter 20' is set during TSFS, before TVH, while Chapter 21 is set during / after it, I believe. It's been a while since I read it. I also remember that all the years listed in the book are like 2 years off for some reason.

Also, TVH & TFF do happen fairly close together. TVH is set in 2286. TFF is set in 2287.

Unspoken Truths is a new Tos novel about Saavik that Margaret Wander Bonnano is writting .She saidina recent interview, that it takes place right after the events in TVH.It comes out some time in 2010.

Don't bother with Probe - get hold of a copy of Music of the spheres instead (copies floating all around the web).

Read all about the differences between the two here:

Thx for the link... now KRAD's "(et al)" makes sense. ;)

I'll definitely try to get a hold on a copy of "Music..."

I remember now reading "In the Name of Honor" and quite liking it - or rather, I knew I read it but didn't quite remember the time it was set in. And of course I read "Captain's Daughter". And right now I'm slowly but surely reading my way through "Mere Anarchy". But I think it's quite a shame that this movie-trilogy (II-IV) apparently didn't warrant more attention in TrekLit - given what MWB writes in the file above, that made sense in the 90's, but perhaps that could be remedied in modern TrekLit. And I'm not only refering to stories set in a certain timeframe but also about those stories actually dealing with the events of that trilogy... which surely must have left some impact on the characters after all.

Having said that, I'm already looking forward to "Unspoken Truths".

I just remembered: the framing sequence for TO REIGN IN HELL takes place during this interval.

Unless the DOC file has been updated, better off getting one of the versions I've formatted.

Wow, Wander Bonanno is writing a new book! :bolian:
I will look forward to that. I loved Strangers from the Sky.

MWB has actually had a few newer Trek novels since Strangers (not counting Probe):

-Catalyst of Sorrows
(2004)
-Burning Dreams (2006)
-Mere Anarchy
, Book Six: Its Hour Come Round (2007, reprint 2009)

^ Not to mention the short story "The Greater Good" in Mirror Universe: Shards and Shadows.

Most of the DC comics second run takes place in that period, plus the graphic novel "Debt of Honor". I think the Captain's Table book with Kirk and Sulu features an Excelsior/Enterprise-A teamup...but I might be mixing that with one of the comic arcs.

No, you're right. There's two flashback stories in The Captain's Table: War Dragons; one takes place just after "Where No Man Has Gone Before," and the other takes place between tFF and tUC.

I was gonna mention what ShinRa mentioned above...i have the whole second series run of the DC series and that has a lot of things go on between the movies...and i thought Probe was an ok book despite the somewhat dragging on it did to make its point.

I believe the framing sequence in Best Destiny takes place around then, and Shadows on the Sun, as well.
