books and Trek XI

qstor

What books by Garfield-Stevens(?) are supposed to have been used as part of the background for trek XI? My Google Fu was lacking.

Thanks

Mike

Did they write "Best Destiny"? I'm pretty sure that was one, as well as "Prime Directive", but I'm going from memory on those.

Speaking of which, any idea when we'll start to see the novelisation announced, or things like "The Art of Star Trek" or "Star Trek: Behind the Scenes"

Surely there'll be book tie-ins to the movie??

I thought I heard Alan Dean Foster's writing the novelization?

hmm, how old is the guy anyway?!

Not quite twelve years older than me -- practically a spring chicken.

One is tempted to make a crack about "Spring of 1937", but not knowing you that well, such a joke might be out of place.

:p

yeah, you might not like being permabanned :p

EDIT: it's sweet that Foster's doing the novelization though. it's fitting. the man deserves it many times over.

Ok forget the novelisation.

What about the behind the scenes and 'art of' books??

I apologise. Thank you for searching for info on the novelisation.

But let's put that to one side now, what about reference type books?

The novelisation of the movie is to be released on May 12th (atleast according to amazon.com)
Here is a link to it..

I have it on order at Barnes & Noble. I'm hoping that it will actually hit the shelves by this time next week, but who knows?

okay then.

hmm. don't know of any. maybe someone else on the board does? I'll go take a look this weekend to see if anything's on the Trek shelf at the local B&N.
