book question

i'm just starting to read the star trek novels and was wondering if there is any particular order they should be read in or if i can just pick up one and start reading it?

There are a lot of different series, subseries, and standalone books within Trek literature, spread out across over two and a third centuries of history. There's no single order to read them in. Just make sure that if you're reading a specific subseries, trilogy, or the like, you begin with the first book in that grouping. Although even that isn't strictly necessary in every case.

Helpful sites include Steve Roby's Complete Starfleet Library and the Memory Beta Wiki for Trek tie-in fiction (though watch out for spoilers in that one).

If you are looking for a "reading order" you may actually want to start with the old TOS novels and work your way through the publication dates. It depends on what you like, what series was your favorite, etc.
