I got this idea from a similar thread in the General Trek sub-forum. What moments or scenes from novels make you want to stand up and start cheering? Here are some of mine:
- Captain Clark Terrell stands his ground against an angry solider who's put a gun to his head in an effort to halt planetary elections on Mestiko. Terrell convinces him to think before acting and saves not only his own life but that of countless Mestiko citizens, too (Star Trek: Mere Anarchy - The Darkness Drops Again).
- Admiral William T. Riker confronts Federation President Ishan Anjar regarding questionable orders to Starfleet ships and troops and makes a speech about the importance of option for diplomacy over belligerence (Star Trek: The Fall - The Poisoned Chalice).
