[book] Book of Lies - (!)Spoilers(!)

So I had another flight to Atlanta and I picked up Book of Lies after I got my Chick-Fil-A. One thing about long flights, they go alot quick when your reading something, but lets jump to the book.

About a quarter of the way through the book one of the people in my party asked me what the book was about and I had a really hard time trying to explain to them just what it was about. I struggled to explain the connection with superman without sounding like an idiot nerd or just how a comic books first issue had anything to do with anything.

As I read the book, It was alot easier to explain the story by leaving out superman and just talk about the father and son, and at the end it all just makes you cry.

Perhaps it was the fact that, at that very moment I was upset with my own son and everything hit home really hard. My son is only nine, but sons do dumb things sometimes.

Over all i Liked this book more than some of the other books I've read and reading some of the reviews on Amazon I'm left confused. I thought it was a good book. I don't know what a "great or Excellent" book is, but as long as I can't put it down thats good for me.

What did everyone else think about this book?

I actually just finished this book a couple days ago! It was just alright, nothing special. The final revelation at the end was extremely anti-climactic, I was holding out hope that there would be some biblical/paranormal explanation. I've also been reading his other book, Book of Truth. I'm halfway through but I'm pretty much going to stop reading it now. I've concluded I don't really care for his writing style, even though I enjoy the comic books he's written.

I think the ending actually fits rather well with what I know about the bible and I can see it fitting really well with moses too.

God telling his people that there is no secret to living for ever, you can't, but your ideas can, and in the end it is the story we pas down from one generation to the next thaty tells his people where they have been.
