Yeah, I know what you mean... I did think this weeks was a slight improvement over last, so I might give it another week, seen as there's nothing else on.

Hmmm, I quite liked the first episode. It's no more hard to believe than Indiana Jones and certainly no more far-fetched than either that or The DaVinci Code.

Well, it's not been renewed.
From Digital Spy

The BBC has decided not to commission a second series of archaeological drama Bonekickers.

The show starred Julie Graham as the head of a team of archaeologists solving historical mysteries and was penned by Life On Mars creators Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham.

While initial ratings were good - some 6.8m (30.5%) tuned in for the first episode in July - the audience quickly declined, losing 3.2 million viewers in four weeks.

A BBC spokesman told Broadcast: "Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham have decided to concentrate on new projects and not write a new series of Bonekickers. We look forward to working with them in the future."

Life on Pluto!
An archeologist gets into a digging accident and is sent back to 1595 where he hears lots of lutes in his head...

I think it had possibilities but it was done so... meh. The sword obsession (oo-er, phallic imagery!) was a bit, uh, obsessive, and all the characters were a bit too cryptic and vague with one another, except for the dirty old bugger always chatting up the young hottie.

There werwe a lot of interesting stories they could have done rather than what they did. Ah, well, no great loss.

I agree, it had potential but it was pissed away on trying to be "relevant" and if they'd just stuck to telling a decent story instead of trying to tie in topical subject matter they might have come up with something decent.

And they laced the topical stories with subtle as a sledgehammer, borderline toxic Political Correctness. That's what helped kill the show for me. Also bad CGI, like that laughable snake.
