Blurry faces

I have always reacted to these scenes as well. And I don't know why this isn't brought up on other places on the Internet.

I have been shooting stills and motion picture, on an amature level of course, for a long time now. So I am not unfamiliar with focal length, hyperfocal and other focus techniques.

What we see in these scenes makes no sense at all.
Since it goes like this:
Cut to Spock -》in focus -》Cut to Spock Prime -》in focus -》cut back to young spock -》in focus -》and cut to older spock -》NOT in focus.

This is no technique...it must be a mistake.

If they shot this movie withba 3d camera it mifgt have to do something with that perhaps.
The blur looks weird for one. Almost looks like you are trying to watch a 3d movie without the glasses.

Hey newcomer. This thread's been inactive for 7 years. The moderators generally encourage us to not revive long dormant threads since some of the participants will have left the board. Generally speaking, if the subject is of real interest to you, they suggest starting a new thread on the topic.

Here's a thread on "Official Policy on Resurrecting Old Threads?" which might prove illuminating.

Oh. Sorry. Never thought to check the OT post date. Just got excited to find the topic. Nah no need to start a new thread.
Sorry for the extremely late bump.

Beyond had lots of blurry scenes as well, maybe that has something to do with 3D. I never wanted to see it in 3D anyway, but where I live there seem to be no screenings in 2D AND the original english language.

Flattered to have my thread bumped like this. I'm still none the wiser how Abrams allowed this to happen in the first two films, it was really distracting.

Sad to hear it also happens in Beyond.
