Blunt Talk is What You Have all Been Waiting For.

Blunt Talk.

Dark Picard.

Pat plays an out of control alcoholic, drug addict, sex mad news Pundit celebrity anchor rampaging into his own self destructive urges while trying to address current affairs with the American public 3 nights a night.

From watching the pilot, I think Blunt Talk is for the old Californication audience who believe that they have grown up and need something a little more classy, who are lying to themselves.

Because of who we are, and what we dig, this is amazing because Patrick is allowing himself to be taken into the ridiculous, say the unthinkable and then snort a line of coke and make it all worse.

Yup.

Maybe it's awful, Blunt Talk could be a train wreck of obvious smut, super decadence and vulgarity but it feels like Christmas turned up to 11, because that's Jean-Luc Pi-####ing-Card propositioning transexual hookers, so I don't care.

I want more, and I want it now.

OH!

Is Patrick trying to be Spider Jerusalem?

Not quite manic enough, but I do see shades of Transmetropolitan here.

There's a wicked steep drop off in the drug/booze use in episode 2, but I believe the writers still brought the funny.

The pilot seemed to have been about an incredibly bad night, and not a regular weeknight for someone comparable to Hunter S. Thompson circa 1972.

I love the show. I've watched the pilot, and the second episode, and I want more. Unfortunately, it's on Starz, which I do not get and cannot afford, so I have to hope it will come to Netflix.

I have only seen the first episode, but there is a LOT to like, in my opinion, and even the subordinate cast is excellent. Aided, of course, by camera cuts, good writing and perhaps an ad-lib here and there! More, more, more!
