I have an original 1973 paramount Pictures full size 5'x7' blueprint of Starship Model MK-1x Heavy cruiser NC1700 USS constitution class second edition starship class 1 by Franz joseph .This is not one of those small 12 pc blueprint sets but one large uncut version.I had a contact trying to help me locate info on it but was unable to as he advised that NCC1700 wasnt listed anywhere Need help in background info and value of this print. Thanks

I have the 1973 Enterprise ones. BOY, did I go over them again & again. It was $5. That's like, twenty in today's dollars!

My Son is now doing the same. Deck by deck.
:wtf:

Are these the truly original blueprint that FJ currculated at the early conventions. Or the somewhat reworked ones that were cut into the 12 sheet and found their way into the vinyl slipcases (I have those).

Been trying for years to track down a copy of the first efforts.

Vinyl slipcases, I'm afraid. They were the only ones available to me as a kid.

I've got one too!

I'm told it was a promotional sold at conventions, which is where I must have gotten it.

forbin, mines not even close to what yours looks like. This one was direct from a printer in 1973

t'girl, this is not cut into smaller prints like the ones they sell for 20 bucks. this was one of the original prints right from the printer in 1973. Research shows the NC1700 in this form wasnt out there as far as i know.

Can you post an image of yours like Forbin did of his?

Maybe that would help, and make it easier for others to know exactly what they were searching for in trying to value it and find more info.

If it's not even close to that one, then I doubt anybody here can help you without a picture to look at.

What does "direct from a printer" mean? Forbin's is as "direct from a printer" as any other printed document. Did you think someone drew Forbin's by hand or something?

Boobatuba, maybe a little less sarcasm is warranted here.I rec'd it from an individual who printed it.is that direct from the printer enough?

Ahkyahnan. I am new to this so bear with me.i have to take a full picture and figure out how to include it.thanks for that info.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I really didn't know what you meant by "direct from a printer." The only thing I could think of was perhaps you meant "printed" versus "hand-drawn." I didn't realize you were referring to a time issue, but now I get it. Yours was printed right before you received it and Forbin's was printed some time before he bought it at a convention. Got it. I don't understand the relevance, but I get what you meant now.

You have my curiosity really piqued now. There were very few commercial printers used by individuals in 1973 that could produce 5' x 7' pages. Was this person associated with Paramount or perhaps Ballantine Books?

Hopefully you can get a picture up so we can take a stab at this. Just get a picture on an image-hosting site like Photobucket or Flickr and use the "insert link" button to attach it to your post. Very simple.

boobatuba, thanks for the reply. It was done by a newspaper firm and there were only a few made. The customer I believe was Paramount direct. Mine doesnt look like forbins at all.The format and layout is not the same.I will try to take a picture to show you all.

Forbin please resend your picture and i will explain the differences if u like. Thanks for all the responses.
