Over on the DAZ3D website, we have an ongoing thread for Trek model builders (digital), which is now in its 4th generation (we have to make a new one after 100 posts). Recently, we started talking about steampunk Trek (yeah, I mentioned it - sue me!
), and I decided to play around with the model I created as a freebie for Poser users, of the bridge from TOS. I'm pleasantly surprised to find that, with very little other than changes in textures, I've been able to make a reasonably good "Steam Trek" version of the bridge, and since the geometry is largely unchanged, it remains recognizably Trek, as opposed to looking like something else entirely.
I haven't modeled new chairs, and the railings will definitely have to go, but on the whole, I like it:
