"Bloom County" to return

^Technical glitch, perhaps.

I so love having a new Bloom County strip to look forward to. I've missed it.

I definitely agree. Reading his new strips reminds me how much fun I had and how much I laughed at the originals when I was a teenager and in high school.

I just hope he doesn't obsess over Trump too much. I don't care about Trump. I care about the world of Bloom County.

We'll see. He more or less said that's why he returned. Hopefully after a couple of weeks, he'll focus more on Bloom County in general.

I think the current Trump plot is actually waaay better than the original. I actually thought the original Trump storyline from the-gulp-80s was one of the strip's weakest. If nothing else, it meant we didn't have Bill the Cat acting like, well, Bill the Cat.

That being said, I agree that I don't want the new strip to be all Trump, all the time. Give me some more Milo, some more Portney, more Oliver and, especially, more Steve Dallas.

Or at least branch out and make some "John Boehner is orange" jokes. Something. More than just easy Trump references, as funny as they are!

The thing with Trump is it's a bit like mocking Sharknado. He seems to fully embrace and double down on anything he's taken to task on. I think it's part of his popularity as it feeds into the persecution complex that seems to manifest itself on the right. Ol' Trump won't take it on the chin from the lamestream media, you betcha.

Just wait until Opus discovers the world of Internet message boards and gets trolled for the very first time.

A favorite strip...

That strip sums up everything about most SJW's/emoprogressives these days, and it was prescient in its time.

^^ My favorite strip and my favorite thread bomb. Since things are far worse now than they were 30 years ago, I'd love to see him deal more with that. I loved the first panel of the first new Sunday strip that he did. He really summed up the current Zeitgeist.
