I had to go to hospital just before the last episode of the dome story came out in anime format but I am back now and am nearly up to date again.
I loved #272. It certainly did this story justice: great animation and voice acting! Most people call this hollow form Ichithing and I think it fits. All we still know about the coming movie at the end of the year is that Ichithing will be back. I am very curious. Hopefully for a change the movie will include Ishida and Orihime as main characters, too and be less “Bleach featuring Ichigo and the Shinigami”.
I regret it that my favourite story is already finished and we go back to “my Bankai is bigger than yours”. Nevertheless, I liked the Hitsugaya fight although the animation has lost some of its quality. Well, my daughter was happy because she is a big Hitsugaya fan.
I think people are too harsh on Hitsugaya. For a Shinigami captain he is very young but nevertheless he is already a good captain, someone who showed that he can fight and also that he is able to lead and be liked and respected by his people. He is still developing his powers and I could also see in this fight that he is learning, that he is inventive and brave. He is obviously mainly created with younger viewers in mind and why not? Looking at my seven-year-old, it worked.
Yes, I also wondered about Yamamoto sometimes but it would of course be boring if Yamamoto would get rid of the opposition so easily. It also makes sense that he lets his people fight first so that they can gain experience and power – and he only steps in when he absolutely has to. I only think that sometimes he tends to wait too long.
Without looking it up, I think Yamamoto`s second in command is in charge of the shielding around the battle zone. We see this guy so rarely, I can`t even remember his name right now…
There are really not many on the same power level as Ichigo but I think that is a good thing. The dome story definitely showed that having a huge amount of power with no to very little control is a very dangerous thing. As entertaining as the huge hack and slash fights purely based on power are I find it much more interesting to watch people fight who don`t have that much raw power and therefore have to use teamwork and cleverness, as Rukia did.
Ishida certainly got much more powerful compared to early Bleach. He is still the quiet thinker who is very difficult to provoke. Yes, I agree with you, Technobuilder: The Shinigami eldest seem to be the most powerful and the ones who are also the most quiet of the captains – although to Shunsui this would only apply to battle situations.
I am curious about Unohana, too. I only know that Tite Kubo said that we will see her fight – but that hasn`t happened yet.
