Spoilers Blade Runner: Black Lotus

I may end up having the same reaction to this that I had to The Mandalorian: it could have been a movie. Maybe there'll be enough big developments (and maybe even a little character development) in the coming Black Lotus episodes to justify the time. But it hasn't made the most of the time it's had so far.

Okay, the show's over, and... meh?

There was definitely not enough story for 13 half hour episodes. As at least one review online pointed out, Davis's part in the show goes nowhere. There are no massive surprises. Though I do wonder...

When she rides off into the desert at the end, who else is riding off alongside her, coming toward her from the right of the screen?

It definitely got padded out with that one recap episode.

I'm a bit embarrassed that it took four months for me to realize that Jay and Elle are on either side of Kay, who was both Replicant and Blade Runner.

Yeah, I felt pretty underwhelmed by the end. I pretty much zoned out during any of the action sequences (and the last two episodes had a lot). As much as I adore Jessica Henwick and Samira Wiley, I couldn't bring myself to care all that much. Even if the animated character movements were better (which was jarring to the very end), I don't think I could love this show. Which is a real bummer since I had been looking forward to this show for years since it was announced.

I thought that was curious, too. I don't expect we'll ever know since I don't foresee this show getting a second season.

...you did better than me. I didn't even notice that! Hell, I only realized Elle and Jay were homophones of letters at the very end when Doc went looking for Jay and found Elle's sword.

Apropos of something, but did anybody else think Doctor Goodman (the doughy scientist running the memory machine) resembled Dr. Laurence "Larry" Erhardt (played by J. Elvis Weinstein) from Mystery Science Theater 3000? I kept expecting him to say "Thank you!" in an extremely nasal voice at any moment.
