Blade Runner 2

The umbrellas went from having futuristic light sticks for the handles in the original to being plain old umbrellas you can get in out timeline. I bet the clothes in this version will no longer have that blade runner look and will be the same style you can get in our stores. Harrison is already wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans. Gosling looks like hes wearing his regular clothes.

You can get lightstick handled umbrellas now. There's probably even a parent granted, so the film can't use them without buying those ones. Or they are going to pointlessly cgi in the handles. Or they forgot.

To be fair...that's because we now look like BR. And to an extent even some of those BR fashions were extant back then in some parts of the world.

Nah our fashions today look nothing like the original film. People wear sweat pants, jeans, baggy jeans and large sloppy t-shirts mostly.I know no one that wears a jacked lie Dekard did. The ambience of the world just does not feel like Blade Runner in the preview. Maybe when we see more it will seem like the Blade Runner world.

The exact models no, they were all modified from a base 30s/70s and counterculture and East Asia mix. But there's enough anachronistic fashion trends, as there was with the 80s too, for it to be ..passable. Soho in the late nineties to early 2ks had enough of a BR vibe on a good day. Or Camden.

M. Emmet Walsh. (I know it doesn't matter, but I can't help myself. :ack: )

I stand corrected. It's been over fifteen years since I last saw the movie, so my memory screwed up there. But I still remember wincing at that line the first time I saw it . . . and vastly preferring the later cut several years later.

Thanks for backstopping my faulty memory!

Seeing the tangible trailer of the sequel to my favorite movie of all time is one of the top 3 or 4 moments of my fandom ever. Never thought it would happen.

Blade Runner isn't one of my personal favourites, exactly, but I do like it, very much and it's easy to see how influential it became, to so many movies later on. ... Dark City, for example and the STAR WARS prequels. I would've preferred it, honestly, if Harrison Ford had just steered clear of it, and let a new crop of characters lead the adventure, but he's got this bucket list, or some shit, where he's revisiting his glory days with franchises like Indiana Jones and Star Wars.

I hope they commission some equally iconic music for this one

Vangelis is still alive ;)

But he won't be doing the score, they've already announced that Johann Johannsson(who worked with Villeneuve on Prisoners, Sicario and Arrival) will be composing this one.

I hope they commission some equally iconic music for this one. I also hope they move on with the zeitgeist, to reflect 6 decades of social change.

Awkward as it would only have been 30 years in universe. ;) and they had already in some ways stagnated.
