Funko pops moving in on Lego territory...
Today was Black Widow's original release day. Somewhere in this vast Multiverse, MCU fans are getting their first cinematic fix in almost a year.
Meanwhile, I'm just going to have to be content with the fact that between Disney plus, Netflix and my own purchases, I have streaming access to the complete theatrical and televised works of the MCU with the exception of The Incredible Hulk and, it would seem, Cloak and Dagger. I need Hulu for that one.

I'm hoping so too. They will have to release it sometime though. It's just unfortunate that it's probably not going to do the money it should have done if people are still afraid to go to crowded places or/and if you have to social distance at cinemas. Will be a weird one.
They've been doing those kind of shorts for years, and they've done a ton of Marvel ones.

In a sane, logical world, yes, that would be a reasonable hope.
But we clearly don't live in such a world so I just know at least one executive will think exactly that.

Okay, MCU fans, Mulan has thrown down the gauntlet: would you pay $30 for permanent access to Black Widow - but only if you have an active Disney+ subscription? Keep in mind that Disney+ no longer offers a free trial, so that'd actually be a $37 investment for unwashed heathens such as myself.
I've got three people in my household who'd watch it, so a $30 rental seems relatively sensible, but $37... nah, that's too much. Not with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and The Mandalorian S2 still unavailable. I guess that makes $30 my limit, and, for that kind of money, I'd prefer a bundled 24-hour rental and pre-order of the Blu-ray.
Yep, for my family of four 30 bucks and in house snacks probably SAVES me at least 30 dollars. Going to see a movie is about 80 CAD for us. 40 CAD for tickets, 40 for snacks.
Sure. I'd probably spend that much or more seeing it at least twice in the theater anyway. This will save me money.
I have Disney+ but 30$ is simply too much for a single person even if you factor in ticket prices ( it would be around 16,50$ here). If i want to get snacks (say a box of Nachos with Cheese and a big Coke which is my standard) it would be an additional 10$, ride to and back around 2-3$ and i am even but get to see it on a huge screen with professional sound and with friends which is a nice night out.
For such big action movies even a good hometheater can't compare and who has the place and the money to blow 3000+ for a good system? For decent drama movies or comedies i don't need to go to the theater but blockbusters are a must for me.
For families though it is a bargain i guess - 2 parents, 1-2 kids and you have already broken the barrier with ticket prices alone. No hassle driving there, having to find a parking spot, not losing the kids in the crowd and the insane prices for snacks makes this a very appealing offer and you actually get to keep the movie and rewatch it over and over because the kids want it even if your eyes and ears bleed (watch out Frozen 3).
If this takes and other studios follow suit the theaters should be very alarmed as it might really change viewing habits in the long run

Ditto. I'm a single guy who goes to these with friends who pay for themselves, so I pay for 1 ticket, often at a Sunday matinee. I'm not keen on paying 3 times as much to watch it on my sisters Disney+.
