Black Panther becomes.... [SPOILERS]

Um. I thought the whole point of his character was that he was from Wakanda. How is he suddenly the "American" Panther? Did he just get his visa or something?

Sounds like typical comic book nonsense.

American Panther!

I'll wait to see the story beats but I suspect this is going to start a few bonfires!

Black Panther was one of those few names where Black in the titled worked. Black was, imo, used too many times just to identify that the man/woman was a black individual. Such as Black Goliath or Black Lightning but with Black Panther it made sense even if it felt redundant.

Black Panther isn't going away, I mean isn't his sister still in Wakanda using the name? Maybe this is a way of franchising out the character. Perhaps fans can say, "At least Marvel is keeping him viable and visible in the universe". He looks like a stealth version of Captain America minus the shield.

Since he's taken over Daredevil's book in short term like Herc did on Hulk I'd say it bodes well. Afterall Herc is getting an ongoing soon so maybe something similar will happen with Panther when Daredevil returns.

So first T'Challa subs for Daredevil, and now he's filling in for Cap? Guy's having an identity crisis.

Well, Superman's from Krypton and Wonder Woman's from Themiscyra. Being American is about what you stand for, not where you come from.

Christopher is kind of right, T'Challa has been going through something of an identity crisis and a personal quest to "find" himself. He won't even allow himself to see Ororo who has respected his decision. He's still filling in for Matt, this is part of the Black Panther tie-in for Fear It's Self so it should have been posted in the Fear It's Self thread...but oh well.

this is why I realy don't follow marvel any more .

new superhero ( attack of the show's busted rules) .

There's nothing to fear, but fear itself...

Nope... Be afraid of this stupid costume...be very afraid
