Black Ops PC Graphics problem?

Crewman47

I've been playing Black Ops on the PC since it's release and never had much problem with any of the graphics. Now I'm not sure if it's an upgraded graphics card that's the problem, as I upgraded between a 2nd and 3rd reinstall of the game (PC probelms not related) and now when I play the game I weird lighting artefacts on some of the darker levels where there is low level lighting source, like the pic below on the level Victor Charlie:

You can see that when you shine the torch at Reznov it causes a shadow to cover his whole body except his beard which appears to have too much gamma(?) on it?

Any ideas? I've tried going into the Graphics settings of the game and changing settings, I've even looked at my graphics card settings and the games config file (which I don't know much about) but haven't been able to fix it.

ETA - just did a quick search and found something from another forum that a few others are having the same problem and it's suggested that it could be a shader problem maybe related to a recent patch update cause the game was okay from the orginal version? It's an Nvidia graphics card I've got (GTS 450) and an NVidia that's mentioned in the post but it might be the card?

Not really a solution but this is why I just can't do PC gaming anymore. I always have some issue or another :(
