Could a vacuum drive be created?

How might a vacuum drive function? Based on the ability to create a small black hole the vacuum drive would collapse the black hole causing the fuel inside of the vacuum to be compressed and then release a sudden powerful burst of thrust propelling the craft forward.

While this is definitely interesting, I think it's fair to point out that no black hole was actually created. This was a simulation of the black hole. Still, very neat stuff!

Still the simulation could be used as the base of creating a model that could eventually lead to creating a singularity possibility. The base of the simulation would surround the process of the black hole consuming matter that is around it and converting it into a thrust potential to reduce the fuel that is carried aboard a starship. Basically like a Bussard Ramscoop the drive would collect small amounts of matter in space and then collapse the matter into a potential to create thrust.

Black holes do not hoover up matter like some sort of Dyson dust buster. The same law of gravity applies as for ordinary matter. Provided you have sufficient velocity you could safely orbit a black hole outside its event horizon.
