This year was something of an oddity for me and my gift for my dad. The timing lined up beautifully (it usually doesn't) for me to be able to do this so I went for it.
For my dad's birthday this year, I sent him a DVD. It was of a short film I co-wrote and co-produced, and for which we won first place in the film festival we submitted it to. Attached to the disc was a note - "First place film for a first place father. Thank you and Happy birthday!"
