recently a guy told me to use GameRanger and a Fan patch relativly new: mpr++ 0.2.6.c

I was surprised that turnproccessing is like enormouly faster on my pc then before. Also only 1 crash per 70 turns and no late game issues even after hundreds of turns.

So i am eager to play it not just in singleplayer. Anyone here who wants to join the small but loyal player community?

Download a program called dxwnd, works lovely

Mpr++ is the alternative to dxwnd. for some dxwnd does the job. for me mpr++ is much faster, more stable and includes better graphical ships. I own a cd, but to get the ready-to-go-patched version i used all-in-one installer 1.0.1 which includes also all current mods. Note that some have some crashes while others are more stable.

armadafleetcommand.com/botf is the entire modding community for BOTF. MPR is just one part of the upgrades that have been done over the years.

Sorry I'm a little late to this party, but could someone explain (to someone with the comprehension of a 5 year old) what the best way is to play this game? I've recently tried BOTE which wasn't bad but I missed the starship combat.
