Bionic Woman to DVD in October

I'm sure back when the show was on this went on in many households:

"Dad, can we watch Bionic Woman?"
"It's THE Bionc Woman you ungrateful child! THE! Now go to your room!"

Bionic Woman has already been released... so there should be no imaginary confusion.

Or if someone is confused they could just read the article.

That assumes that Dr. Soong got around to inputting a context subroutine.

I can't believe such a fuss was made over this. It's positively comical.

Truth be told, it's more entertaining than 'Bionic Women' (No "The"). Sucks for the OP, though.

I think I'm one of the few that thought the remake had some potential...not very much to be sure, but if it hadn't been from the writer's strike it may have improved somewhat and maybe even got to a full 22 episode season before being rightly cancelled.
The short lived Knight Rider reboot comes to mind as being a similar case. They got off to an OK start, but had no idea what to do next.

The Bionic Woman: Three words
Bionic Woman: Two words

Oh and you've never used "shorthand" by leaving off the "The" from any other TV series, band name, movie title, etc.?

Nope. And it irks me to no end when people refer to a movie with "One" in the title, ie
"Dude, did you watch Rambo last night?"
"Rambo One or Rambo Two?"

Let's review - First Blood, then First Blood, Part 2: Rambo

Better yet, I've never heard of a movie titled Rocky I. I know them and refer to them as, Rocky, Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Rocky V, and Rocky Balboa.

Wow, you must be a joy to talk to.

Oh for chrissakes.....

Can any of you fine people tell me when EXACTLY THE Bionic Woman 1976 is coming out, and how much it will cost??

And yes, I've already read the link in the OP. I was just hoping for an update.

The details haven't been finalized yet. All that's been announced is that it comes out in October, at least according to my quick scan of Google.

1976 should be placed in parentheses in order to preserve authenticity. ;)

Any idea if they'll be re-issued in the UK as region2? Only the first 2 seasons of both The Bionic Woman and The Six-Million Dollar Man were released over here by Universal Playback about 4 or 5 years ago, albeit as bare bones releases and the 3 TV-movies that began TSMDM were in two-part episode form :-(.

Since I'm one of the guilty parties, I probably shouldn't speak up... but--

The reason I got into the discussion is that I almost didn't open the thread, because I thought it was about the remake. That's why I thought it could have been clearer.

If that doesn't move anyone, I'll leave it at this: What if the title (and subject matter) was "Wild Wild West to DVD in October"?

So... When is "BJ and the Bear" coming out on DVD then?

Or is it "B.J. and the Bear"? Or "The B.J. and the Bear"? Or is it going to be a remake?

Anyways... what are we talking about again?

The TV series has also come to DVD. That's not the point. Pretend that neither of them has been released, and post again.

Re: THE Bionic Woman to DVD in October

Err, a clarification: the title Bionic Woman refers to the disappointing Michelle Ryan remake. It would be clearer that you were talking about the original series if you'd refer to it by its complete title, The Bionic Woman.

I would bet real money that you're the only person in this Universe that knew that, cared about it, or was otherwise confused by this.

I hope you're ashamed of yourself.

Actually, he wasn't alone. I thought this was going to be a thread about the newer, crappy ass remake they did. And I was about to say "who cares?".

Glad to see its the original and ONLY "The Bionic Woman" that we're talking about.

And, wow, I hope Steve "The Six Million Dollar Man", and Bigfoot, are not far behind!

And if the thread title had said, "THE Bionic Woman", would you have understood the difference?

I think the only reason people are automatically thinking the Michelle Ryan remake is because it was recent and is therefore in people's minds.

Oh, on that, I agree. Could you imagine if Jim Carrey had done his awful comedic remake of The Six Million Dollar Man? Just imagine the thread confusion then!
