The Postman-It looked right. Sadly, as a fan of the David Brin novel, I couldn't help but puke over the writing, which gutted the primary themes from the book. Go read the book-its a heck of a story
Ishtar-Dustin Hoffman is always fun to watch. Sadly, that's about all you can say that's good regarding this flick.

I sort of liked Wild Wild West, loved the Steampunk concept, same with Waterworld. But I guess the idea behind the movie was better than the finished product in both cases.

I am somewhat fond, at least mildly so, of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, even if it was a spectacular flop. I thought it had a certain charm, despite its scatter-shot approach.

That was a great movie! I don't care how much money it made or lost.

I am in full agreement. I own it on both Tape and DvD.

Hrrm, $285 million global for Oblivion is hardly a flop anyway. Especially for a non franchise sci-fi movie.

The Lone Ranger is going to fit the bill.
White House Down as well, don't see it getting to $100m domestic on a $150m budget.

Oblivion though is not a flop, After Earth, yes.

RED 2, not likely. We know not when an actual JL film may happen, no sane person would call that at this point.

I can totally see R.I.P.D. flopping, rumor is it's budget is close to $200m. If that's true then flop away.

It'll probably end up underperfoming more like After Earth, with its international gross saving it from being an outright flop, rather than joining The Lone Ranger as a truly disastrous flop.

We'll see how the WW shakes out but no doubt this is not as expected for the studio.

I doubt the studio cares where it makes the money on a film. Sure they may get a small percentage in certain territories. But all those takings add up.

IIRC, John Carter is on track to be the biggst flop in Hollywood history - Disney losing nearly $200 million on the film.
