BF: Bad Company better than Modern Warfare?

Right now a friend and I are arguing which is better: Battlefield: Bad Company or the Modern Warfare series from COD.

I am siding with the Battlefield game for a number of reasons:

1. BF: The player can utilize vehicles in the game.
MW: Can't do this in MW and the few vehicles your player rides on can't be controlled by the player.

2. BF: Environments can be destroyed during battle.
MW: Other than shooting through some walls, very little damage is done to the environment you are fighting in.

3. BF: There is ample room to maneuver against enemy forces. You get an objective and you can see on the map how much area you have to attack it and then you can study the lay of the land and decide how to assault the enemies position.
MW: On most missions there is really only one way to get to an objective. Oh sure you might can take another street or cut through a room, but other than that it funnels you right where you need to go.

My friends only argument is: "Modern Warfare is 'cooler' than BF: Bad Company"

I think the graphics are better in MW, but for overall gameplay I prefer BF.

Anyone else out there who believes BF Bad Company is better than the MW?

They're two different games - like Cricket and Baseball. (I would say BF:BC is Cricket in that analogy).

Generally, I prefer the BF style of play - you can be a cheap bastard, but you can counter anything another player can think of fairly easily. Sniping and long range combat is also much easier so you actually have a need for rifles.

The only games, from both series, I can compare are:

Call of Duty Classic
Battlefield 1943
Bad Company 1
Modern Warfare 2
Bad Company 2 beta

I enjoyed Modern Warfare 2. The story line was epic and the weapons that are available are outstanding. I didn't much care for the story line version of Bad Company 1. Just got tedious after awhile. But when it comes to multi-player, BF wins hands down for me. The ability to effect/destroy your surroundings adds a level of realism that MW lacks. I've been having an absolute blast playing 1943 on the PS3. Once I upgrade my PC I'll probably pick up BF 2142, Vietnam and maybe some of the other titles.

Definetly Battlefield for me. I tried, I really tried, for a few hours the other night to get into the Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer on Steam when a friend was over and I could play it on his account. And it has it's charms I guess, but for me the gameplay in the Battlefield series is way more appealing. And after having played the Bad Company 2 BETA for a while now I can easily say that that multi blows Modern Warfare 2 out of the water as far as I'm concerned.
