The BC forests aren't obvious. They did a good job of glossing that up. It doesn't feel like more Stargate.
She carries one of the enemy's guns.
She probably dies moments later...
Even though she's wearing a BLUE SHIRT.

One observation
Sofia Boutella seems to be the only one of her race in the teaser.
Is that her planet?

I had assumed that was the crew of Enterprise gathered in a central location after the crash.
Random observations:
A new Starship Enterprise will likely be needed.
They made the uniforms solid departmental colors. No more textured Delta Shields all over the tunic. I didn't mind them, but these do look crisper and more like the TOS uniforms, though the colors are sharper. It's a good change.
The new uniform overcoats are pretty dapper too.
Deep Roy's Keenser character is spotted in the quarry scene being queued up with the rest of the crew.
They changed the barrel of the hand phaser. I'm seriously glaring at my $65 QMX replica that I bought with the special edition Blue-Ray of Into Darkness.
Scotty is wearing his Starfleet Academy class ring. Little call-back to the design of the one used to blow up the Section 31 facility in Into Darkness.
The Aliens that Sofia Boutella's character fights with, and the "big baddie" character that says "This is where the frontier pushes back." has strong resemblance to Remans. It's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that they're Remans, probably a completely new race. I'm just noting the similarity.
Kirk crashed his step-dad's vintage car in Star Trek, and now is crashing a motorcycle. His personal auto insurance must be through the roof.

Same here, it was difficult to make out her race. She doesn't appear all the way human, something going on in the hairline. It may be that she just gets to be the audience analogue, staring up at something gargantuan and terrifying, or she might have some larger part in the plot.
What's with people occasionally being beamed away? Is that a trial? An arena? A test?? All but a dream???

The two aliens that Sofia Boutella's character is fighting are two distinct races. One has Jem'Hadar like horn/spikes, the other doesn't. Between she, the two aliens, and the main baddie that's four alien races... plus possibly a fifth in one of the helmeted guards in the quarry scene.
Kirk's motorcycle jump happens in the quarry, you can see Starfleet crew appear surprised by his appearance in the top right of the screen. He's wearing the same goggles that he has on when he's getting beamed aboard with Sofia Boutella's character. This leads me to believe the crew has been rounded up, held captive, Kirk and the alien chick are mounting a rescue. They get beamed to a vessel.
The Enterprise is under attack by the Buggers in high orbit of a planet. It's possible the Enterprise was mortally wounded in orbit, and then to add insult to injury, crashed on the planet's surface.
But which ship does Kirk and Alien chick get beamed up to? Peering into the set, it appears to be an alien ship, there's glass paneling on the floor with some green stuff underneath it... not Starfleet at all.

Good observations made in this article. It appears as though the heroes manage to get onto a somewhat operational ship, which is what they're doing in the beginning. If the Beastie Boys are in-fact playing, it's probably a VERY old ship.
