Alright, I'm about to jump back on this interior set, but I wanted to share a breakdown I did for the exterior shot first.
If someone had posted that as a clip from a movie, I would have seriously bought it. Very impressive.
I can’t believe you made a maquette and then scanned it for the destroyed planet. Well yeah, actually I can believe it, because your work has always been Hollywood-level in quality. Amazing. Stunning. Fantastic. Stupendous. Ex—whoops, that’s it, you broke my thesaurus.
That's amazing! I'm glad to see you're still working on this project; I have to admit I kind of forgot about it.
It looks incredible great work! I'm glad that you are still working on this and I look forward to seeing more potential interior shots in the future!
I can't leave well enough alone. I'm reworking this design AGAIN. Keeping some of the ideas, but evolving it forward. After seeing my last render, it feels TOO much like the 1701 still. I wanted to make the corridors even more different this time.
Do you have any plans to tackle Engineering? I'm not sure it fits in with keeping it as close to the source as possible but I love to see a more Prime take on it...
The impulse control room from Beyond is in my mind, the perfect update of the original engine room. I'd love to see that made into main engineering.
I commissioned Marley Mcleay to concept design a corridor for me. I'm just not a very good designer, so I can't come up with cool things out of thin air. I have attached his concept. I did not use his concept exactly, but I did lift design elements, especially the curved panels around the wall monitor Enterprise MSD. I also took his striking red color pallet, and floor stripe design and incorporated that. I feel this will be the final design for the main hallway panels. This is the first one I'm REALLY happy with. Now I just need add in doors, and a light fixture in the ceiling, and we're in business. Marley Mcleay concept art for 1701-A corridor... Final design...
That floor in your render is really reflective; at first I thought you had a glass floor and we were able to look down into the corridor below.
So many people comment on how shiny the floor is, I feel like they don't remember how the 1701 looked.
You know what it is? You need some procedural noise in the bump channel to make the reflections more irregular. They're too clean right now.
Its so clean and reflective because no one has walked on it yet. This is a brand new ship, complete with that new ship smell :P
