if you have time do some online work; article writing etc... You won't make a killing but if you transfer all the proceeds into a savings account then it should add up over time.

As far as choosing a good bank to put your money, ING has always been a great place to save for me. Very competative rates, especially on short term GICs.
Good to know. My girlfriend has an account with them and seems to be happy with their services, so that's why I was leaning towards them, myself.
If someplace you need to go is in walking or biking distance, do that. Save gas.
Only buy food when you are out of near out. Say you eat four bags of chicken tenders a month. $4.50 a bag. But you buy a fifth just to stock up. You do that every month and you've needlessly blown $54.00.
NO FAST FOOD. Fast food is always more pricey.
No pointless excursions. Plan your trips aroudn town. Try to do everything on the same day instead of multiple days where you have to make to & from your home again.
Drop the cable TV. If you got a pile of DVD TV series you've never gotten into, now's the tiem to save on a a cable bill and catch up. I lived without watching any TV for over a year. So can you.
No new cloths of shoes until you abosolutely need it (hles form or they fall apart).
