The Usual Suspects. I did NOT see that coming. I remember the audience cheering at the last shot of Jubal walking down the sidewalk.

Awesome stuff, that.

Sixth Sense. Usual Suspects I saw coming a mile away. Sixth Sense truly surprised me and caused me to re-watch it in case I missed something and it was fun catching all of the clues and seeing how scenes played out in the context of knowing. (Like how the wife is acting at the restaurant.)

The rest of his (M. Night) surprise/twist endings? Not so powerful.

Planet of the Apes -- so long as you don't look at the freaking cover art for the DVD, VHS, etc. that gives it away!!!

I also liked the ending of Unknown, although all the revelations in that movie came out of nowhere. In terms of the overall story the pieces all fit, I just would've liked it if there were clues to lead up to them instead of them just happening/appearing.

Terminator 3 -- don't know if you'd call it a twist since it was just one character misleading the rest of them, but how it ended was ballsy for a big studio flick.

It's a damn close call between "Planet of the Apes" and "The Usual Suspects." The former makes your head explode, the latter makes you chuckle at the cleverness of the filmmakers.

In the end, I gave it to "Planet of the Apes," simply because it did it several decades sooner.

Seriously. I'm glad I first saw it as a kid during a week-long "Planet of the Apes" TV marathon. That was truly a mind-blowing twist.

The Number 23. Loved that movie, and didn't see it going the route that it did. Hmmm... I know what I'm doing tonight.

The Prestige is a very good one, so is Memento. But I have to go for the Usual Suspects. That's the "perfect twist ending"...

Primer has one of the best 'twist' endings ever. If you have not watched Primer, I highly recommend it.

The Prestige. They spell it out in the book at some point, but to keep the suspense all the way through the film while making it blatantly obvious during a second viewing is impressive.
