Best Star Trek Quotes

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
I put this in the wrong place before (Movie Quote in a TV Discussion- for shame) so I though I would move it here.

I'm new and I'm a quotes junkie. Love telling them. Love reading them.

My Quote of the day is from Q.

Lt. Cmdr. Data: Of more immediate importance is your ability to work within groups.

Q: I'm not good in groups. It's difficult to work in a group when you're omnipotent.

Please share your favorites.

That was an uncomfortable hour; for there was a big audience on the hurricane deck. When I went to bed that night, I killed Brown in seventeen different ways-all of them new. -Mark Twain

I love all of Spock's sassy quotes. You know, when he kicks in to sassy gear? It's a bag full of delight that can rival McCoy's deadpan snark.

Doctor, if I were able to show emotion, I would find that your new infatuation with that term would begin to annoy me.

He even has the whole sass face to go along with the sassy remark. So flawless. There's a hand full of them though, I really don't have a favorite.

"...and women wore less."

"time? don't talk to me about time. we don't have the time."

"then perhaps today IS a good day to die! Perpare for RAMMING SPEED!"

"time is the fire in which we burn"

"Assimilate THIS!"

Worf has some pretty good ones: "A warrior's drink!" "Nice legs. For a human." "I am not a merry man!" ( when asked what Klingons dream about: ) "Things that would send cold chills down your spine, and wake you in the middle of the night. No, it is better that you do not know."

Allamaraine count to four./Allamaraine then three more./Allamaraine if you can see./Allamaraine you'll come with me

Just kidding

Two things that pop up in my head.

Julian Bashir: You'll be fine. It's just a flesh wound.
Elim Garak: That was awfully close. What if you'd killed me?
Julian Bashir: What makes you think I wasn't trying?
Elim Garak: [Brightening] Doctor, I believe there's hope for you yet.

I know you. I was like you once, but then I opened my eyes. Open your eyes, Captain. Why is the Federation so obsessed about the Maquis? We've never harmed you. And yet we're constantly arrested and charged with terrorism. Starships chase us through the Badlands, and our supporters are harassed and ridiculed. Why? Because we've left the Federation, and that's the one thing you can't accept. Nobody leaves paradise. Everyone should want to be in the Federation. Hell, you even want the Cardassians to join. You're only sending them replicators so that one day they can take their rightful place on the Federation Council. You know, in some ways you're worse than the Borg. At least they tell you about their plans for assimilation. You're more insidious... you assimilate people and they don't even know it.

Benjamin Sisko: Where's Tolar?
Elim Garak: I've locked him in his room. I've also given him the distinct impression that if he tries to force the door open, it may explode.
Benjamin Sisko: I hope that's just an impression.
Elim Garak: It's best not to dwell on such minutiae.

From TNG

Starfleet was founded to seek out new life. Well, there it sits...waiting!

Guinan: You see? It's an Earth drink. Prune juice.
[looking at the glass appreciatively]
Worf: [awestruck] A warrior's drink.

Miles O'Brien: It's not you I hate, Cardassian. I hate what I became because of you.

"You find something amusing?"
"Lieutenant Worf. I like him. To be more accurate I understand him, Warrior .. proud, fearless, living only for combat. Exactly the type that will get us all killed if we're not careful."

and for something funny....

"I have good news. Keiko has a made a decision designed to increase her happiness. She has cancelled the wedding."

Way too many to list. I couldn't begin to scratch the surface. But off the top of my head...

"So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all? I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again? I would." - Sisko, "In the Pale Moonlight"

"They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again! The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! And I will make them pay for what they've done!" - Picard, "First Contact"

"Time's Up!" Janeway to Annorax, "Year of Hell"

"A lot has changed since I was you."
"Well I'm still me." - The Kathryn's Janeway, "Endgame"

"Risk is our business." - Kirk

Behold! The GREATEST DIALOGUE IN STAR TREK HISTORY:
Quark: What do you think?

Garak
: It's vile.

Quark
: I know. It's so bubbly and cloying and happy.

Garak
: Just like the Federation.

Quark
: And you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it.

Garak
: It's insidious.

Quark
: Just like the Federation.

And from the same episode...

Worf: Nice hat.

He's Dead Jim !!!! One of the best quotes and from star trek 3 the search for Spock Sula to starfleet security officer don't call me tiny !!!

I love it! These are all great!

Here's another. It's short (one word), its perfect and it's pure Worf!

Here is the entire exchange!

Q: I have no powers! Q the ordinary.
Capt. Picard: Q the liar! Q the misanthrope!
Q: Q the miserable, Q the desperate! What must I do to convince you people?

Lieutenant Worf: Die.

Q: Oh, very clever, Worf. Eat any good books lately?

Even after only watching DS9 once, I agree that is a stand-out exchange. Especially coming from those two characters. But what I think makes it very 'special' is that at the same time those two quintessentially cynical characters have that exchange, you know that they have grown to love/like and respect their Federation colleagues (if perhaps not the UFP concept itself).
