Best season one of any series

Yes yes I know, some of you BBS veterans have probably done so many of these that you're blue in the face. But oh well. It's been awhile,we have some fresh posters and I'm in the mood for one.

My vote goes to Star Trek. Some of the best science fiction ever told on television happened in the first two seasons of this show. This season introduced the Klingons,the Romulans,the united federation of planets,Harry Mudd etc. City on the Edge of Forever, Errand of Mercy,Space Seed,Naked time, etc..

Star Trek. Close second, IMO, is Enterprise (saved mainly by good casting and great performances).

It really took a few seasons for me to really warm up to the other shows.

No question. Star Trek. It was the only one of the five that had a great season one. My second choice would be Voyager although they wrapped up the Marquis conflict way too quickly.

This is practically a trick question. Try 'which show has the best season besides the original?' and we might have a bit of a scrounge for second place, but as it is...

I think we might get a more interesting argument from later seasons where there's more heavy duty competition. TNG S6 versus DS9 S6, say.

Star Trek. Utterly brilliant episodes in there. Then DS9. It's first season was it's worst, but it's still okay. Then Enterprise. Again, it's worst season, but a good cast and some good episodes just about keep it together. Voyager's first season was utterly forgettable. TNG's was memorable for all the wrong reasons.

I'm not a huge fan of the orginal series, preferring the later shows, but I have to say it had the strongest first season. TNG really caught my interest with from season 3, DS9 from from season 3 as well. Enterprise had a pretty good first season, but really only found its ground later (seasons 3 and 4). As for Voyager, I've only really seen the 1st season, so I can't compare it with the rest of the show.

TOS had the strongest first season, I think. DS9 is second. It has the strongest pilot IMHO and two extremely strong closing episodes but it's relatively weak in between.

The Original Series, obviously. But with ENT's first season on a close second. Say what you want about ENT, but its first season is stronger than that of TNG, DS9 and VOY, IMHO.

ENT gets my vote. I am too young to have seen TOS originally. I can't really pick out S1 vs. the others of it. I've seen it rerun in a random order.

ENT got me watching right out of the gates, especially since I was generally disappointed with VOY. It was S2 of ENT that started turning me off.
