Star Trek, Moon, Tron Legacy, and episodes II and III of Star Wars are among the best films of the 21st Century.

I'm shocked to discover I've only seen four of these (Donnie Darko, Revenge of the Sith, Serenity and Star Trek).

In that case I recommend watching: Avatar, Children of Men, District 9, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inception, Iron Man, Moon, and Wall-E asap!

Thanks for the recommendations - I've now seen District 9 and liked it. Working on the rest!

Bride Wars? That sounds like one of those useless reality shows on either Lifetime or some other cable/satellite network.

As for Superman Returns, I would not qualify that film among the best in early 21st Century sci-fi and fantasy. While it may have been a noble attempt on Bryan Singer's part, there was something missing from the film. And that something was the late Christopher Reeve. If there were another actor who strongly resembled Reeve physically, then maybe the film would have had a chance.

The production team should have also left the Superman costume the way it was during the Salkind era, and not have made such radical alterations to it.

The same goes for the look and feel of the Daily Planet newsroom.

Other portions missing were Margot Kidder returning as Lois Lane, Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor, and Marc McClure as Jimmy Olson. Including Jackie Cooper as Perry White.

While the film did make a noble attempt in restarting the franchise by thankfully disregarding III and IV, it still did not satisfy fans, there by sending this film to the cinematic junkheap with the aforementioned two films that were disregarded.

Sometimes, you just can't catch lightening in a bottle twice.

I still really want to see Moon. But I went with Children of Men. Just a really well done film.
