Best piece of advice you have heard lately

This was specific to parenting. My sister in law is not the greatest parent, but continually registers shock at her son's behavior. So simple, but great to keep in mind.

Also "you don't have to show up to every fight you are invited to".

I get tired of people in hubby's circle of friends always complaining about why they hate their job/life/whatever and still don't want to do anything about it. "I hate my life and I hate being poor but I won't stop over-spending and won't apply for the promotion because I probably won't get it." If you know what the problem is and you know how to solve it, but won't even try, don't bitch about it to me.
