Best oven cleaning methods

Potatoes exploding all over the inside of a microwave is a fist clencher, especially when it is your tea and you have nothing else.

I was gonna say, if like the OP said, it was 6 flat surfaces, you'd have a microwave. But somehow, that's still a pain-in-the-ass to clean.

And why the hell do cut potatoes still explode anyway? I've nuked whole potatoes and they didn't explode.

I guess the moral is, if there's a mess, clean it before it gets re-baked a dozen times.

Has anyone tried those microwavable poached eggs?

Sometimes, they explode, and you think of that poor chicken, squeezing away, just to get it splatted everywhere.

I do a poached egg every morning, kind of home-made McDonald's bagel and egg.

Just put the egg in a small microwaveable bowl with some salt and pepper, a dash of your favourite whatever like HP sauce and keep some finely chopped peppers and green onions in a tupperware in fridge to sprinkle a few in. Then put a saucer that sits loosely over the bowl and microwave for roughly 3 minutes on med-high, or until it's as runny as you like. Toast the bagel in the meantime.

The egg comes out of the bowl in a perfect bagel-fitting circle, and the bowl goes straight into the wash. The saucer cools down in a sec and then your sandwich goes on top and you sit at your computer to browse TrekBBS.
