Best Guest Star

And I mean one shots only. They played the role once, and poooof, that was it. And what do I mean by best? I mean best acting performance. Could be dramatic, could be comedic..but it has to be the best Guest Star Perfomance from a STAR TREK (any series) episodes..NO MOVIES...

My favorite would probably be David Ogden Stiers as Timicin in the TNG episode 'Half a Life'.

Off the top of my head, and I wish I could remember his name, the actor who played Aamin Marritza in "Duet".

Acting performance? Hands-down, Saul Rubinek as Kivas Fajo in "The Most Toys." He was interesting without being hackneyed, believable but not boring, and he mastered the art of creating an antagonist who was funny, but also dangerous.

I absolutely loved his portrayal of Fajo and don't think any other "one-timer" outclasses him.

How about Joe Piscapo from The Outrageous Okona?

Naw, just kidding.

Seriously, though...

David Warner and Ronny Cox from Chain of Command (TNG). All these years later, and we're still arguing about them.

Jerry Hardin playing Samuel L Clemens aka Mark Twain in TNG "Times Arrow" pts 1 and 2. The expression when he sees Worf abord the Enterpise is priceless.."Wearwolf"
still cracks me up...

All of these have been great picks...here are some from me..

The girl who played LAL in OFFSPRING
Tony Todd as Jake Sisko in Visitor
Mark Lenard as the first Romulan
Wiliam Windom as Matt Decker from Doomsday Machine
The black guy from The Ultimate Computer
And, as listed above, Harris Yulin from DUET

"The Ultimate Computer" was called the M-5 it was designed in 2268 by Dr. Richard Daystrom. The computers voice was that of Jimmy Doohan (Scotty) William Marshall played Dr Daystrom

Gotta agree with some that have been said thus far:

William Windom for "The Doomsday Machine"
Jean Simmons for "The Drumhead"
Harris Yulin for "Duet"

Daggummit...my absolute favorite guest actor has appeared twice, so he's out.

So to stay within the constraints of the question, I've also got to give it up for Harris Yulin as Marritza!
