Oh, it is only Part I. The official title of the first part is just The Best of Both Worlds.
I don't like DS9. I think it's the worst Trek series; therefore, I'm going with the Best of Both Worlds. The City on the Edge of Forever is a close second.
You're right, this is pretty close. Normally I would just keep the poll open for a few more days if I wouldn't have stupidly set a timer this time.

If there's still a tie for the second place when the poll closes, just forget about the other poll and declare ITPM the winner, since it is leading with a good margin against both the other episodes.
Hm, that's not so easy to tell. It all started in the Blue Warp Nacelles thread in the Trek XI forum.The sombrero itself was an idea by Sam Cogley. But many more people were involved in the creation of the sombrero phenomenon.
Note to mods: We really do need a sticky thread at the top of each forum explaining the sombrero thing.

But would that be fair?Yeah, I saw the Blue Warp Nacelles thread diverge into some weird conversation about The Shat playing a warp nacelle and having one blue nacelle and one pink nacelle...but then I stopped paying attention.
As for "In The Pale Moonlight" winning, I don't really think it would matter if you re-posted the poll for the tied episodes or if you just declared it the winner; it would probably win in the final poll. There are a lot of Niners on this forum; I'm not one of them, so I don't like seeing "In the Pale Moonlight" winning, but oh well. I have it on the "Captain's Log Fan Collective", which is the only Trek I have on DVD, so maybe I should go watch it...

ITPM all the way! But if Balance of Terror had gone the distance that would be a tough choice.
It's impossible to single out a "best episode" in all of Trek. In DS9, sure, In the Pale Moonlight is great, but there are so many, like Shadows and Symbols or Our Man Bashir. In TNG, Yesterday's Enterprise, etc.
DS9 is winning this one... That makes me happy.
Agreed. I merely planted the seed. The phenomenon was brought to fruition by many far more talented than myself.
