Thanks for voting in the fifth season polls. This is the first part of the sixth season poll where you have to vote the three episodes you consider to be the best. The five episodes receiving the most votes will go on to the next round. Well, if by now you don't know the routine you are officially a newbie. ;)

Winners to date:
Duet (Season 1)
The Wire (Season 2)
The Die Is Cast (Season 3)
The Visitor (Season 4)
Call to Arms (Season 5)

The poll is open for three days.

Season six was a bit of hit or miss. Of course it was at its best with the Occupation arc and focus on the Dominion War.

My picks:

Favor the Bold

Sacrifice of Angels--the Damar/Dukat/Founder/Odo scenes all great, the minefield going down, Quark saving the day, the battle scenes were outstanding, deus ex machina was disappointing

In the Pale Moonlight.

D'OH! Another, very hard season for me to choose favorite episodes from, though not as hard as with the previous one. The six, or seven if you want, episode arc is fantastic. But, I think I'll choose to list my favorite stand-alone episodes, as I should.

Far Beyond The Stars - Season 6's best episode, though not by much
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight

Far Beyond The Stars is just about the best directed Trek episode from a Trek actor, a perhaps the most honest science fiction story. Its a tribute to the genre, and its a tribute to Roddenberry and Fontana and Gene Coon and Issac Asimov all those guys that really gave a damn about science fiction, and also about the black people and stuff. Its not an episode I originally liked, mind you, but it has definitely grown on me.

Inquisition and In the Pale Moonlight as among the darkest Trek episodes ever, but they are filled with excellent writing, acting and directing, making them also very worthwhile. Michael Dorn (who also did last poll's celebrated In the Cards) surpassed himself with Inquisition, that also introduced Section 31. And In the Pale Moonlight is just the proof, that Sisko is one of the most interesting characters in the entire Trek canon. A really great story that reached into the darkest desperations of a man who wants an end for this bloody war. Its unlike anything Trek had ever handled before, and its a masterpiece as it is.

Great season, great episodes, all and all.... Except for Profit and Lace! God forbid..

I really like season six. It goes between season six and five as my favorite. Season five may be more consistant, but season six has three of my top five favorite Deep Space Nine episodes.

Waltz
Far Beyond the Stars
In the Pale Moonlight

Much easier to select from season six than it was for two, four and five.

In the Pale Moonlight
Rocks and Shoals
Sacrifice of Angels

Sacrifice of Angels, The Magnificent Ferengi, and Far Beyond the Stars. I know, I know, ITMP is superior to all of them! but it ain't my favorite.

Season 6 has many perfect masterpiece episodes, but In the Pale Moonlight is the best of the best. Best episode of SciFi ever made.

yay!, iam not the only one that voted for One Little Ship, and Statistical Probabilities. The third i think will be the clear runaway winner, Pale moonlight.

^ I also really enjoy One Little Ship. It's just entertaining. ;)

Anyway, I couldn't pick just one of the first six eps (they're sort of a whole package to me) so here's what I voted for:
- In the Pale Moonlight
- Far Beyond the Stars
- The Sound of Her Voice

So many fantastic episodes that it was very difficult to choose.

Sacrifice of Angels
The Magnificent Ferengi
In the Pale Moonlight

I'm the truly odd Niner, in that, I absolutely despise Far Beyond the Stars.

This was surprisingly easy for me. Far Beyond the Stars, In the Pale Moonlight, and Rocks and Shoals. The other contender for third in my mind was Waltz.

^ I love "One Little Ship". I love the silliness and the self-mockery. It's a great little adventure.

How many other shows would have pointed out that the little people would not be able to breathe the air outside the runabout ? :)

My votes.

"Rocks and Shoals". Ron Moore at his absolute best.

"Sacrifice of Angels". Probably Star Trek's best action episode.

"In the Pale Moonlight". Nothing more needs to be said about this one.

So tough to pick only three!

Rocks and Shoals - my favorite episode from the outstanding war arc.

Who Mourns for Morn? - the best comedy DS9 ever did.

In The Pale Moonlight - for the same reasons everyone else voted for it.

A lot of good episodes, but it was easier to narrow it down to three this time. My picks:

"In The Pale Moonlight"
"The Magnificent Ferengi"
"Rocks and Shoals"

In the Pale Moonlight - No explanation needed.
Inquisition - Very entertaining. Loved the notion of section 31
Honor Among Thieves - Very underrated. Felt like something different and it was a great story.
