Best "Distant Shores" stories into best episodes?

I've been reading the "Distant Shores" collection of Voyager stories -- mostly written about plots/themes that weren't done, or that were only alluded to in another episode.

Which of these stories do you think would make the best episiodes, and why?

Starting off, I would have loved to seen Robert Greenberger's "Command Code". It is an incredible story with the tension between Tuvok and Chakotay and the challenges of integrating the two crews right after "Caretaker". The end also foreshadows another great episode - "Worst Case Scenario".

Every single story in this book is fabulous and I've read them all several times. They would probably all have made great episodes, especially if the screen-plays were written by (say) Joe Menosky or Ron D. Moore or Lisa Klink.

Agreed 100 % on "Command Code".

As a J/Cer, I'd love to have seen Kirsten Beyer's, "Isabo's Shirt" as an episode, too. It would at least have made sense of Janeway's and Chakotay's on-going flirting and the teasing/chain yanking we got from the writers right up until the end, and there would have been no need for the C/7 of "Endgame". Everything could have even been left open-ended for us to imagine what happened when they reached Earth :)

Also, I had a real soft spot for Marika Willkarah ("Survival Instinct") and thought her lack of closure where her eventual death isn't even commented on was frustrating. So, Christopher L. Bennett's, "Brief Candle" would have been great.

Same goes for Marla Gilmore ("Equinox"), I was really beginning to like her character when she just disappeared, so I'd like to have seen Ilsa J. Bick's, "Bottomless" give her life/death meaning and substantiate her reclaimation after her actions as a crewmember on-board The Equinox.

Kim Sheard's "Winds Of Change" would also have made a great episode and thrown together two characters who did very little together on the show as we got it. It would have really mixed it up and blown a breath of fresh air through the show to have real interaction between the unusual pairing of explosive Torres and gentle Kes :)

Isabo's shirt would have been a good bookend to the second season episode "Resolutions" where Janeway and Chakotay are stranded on a planet together. And you're right, Brief Candle would have made a poignant story with Marika and Harry. That's as far as I've gotten in the book so far, but I do have to say that I also liked the character of Marla Gilmore. I had wished she and Noah Lessing from the Equinox crew had been recurring characters

I like the one with B'Elanna and Lessing. I can't remember the name of it (The Lion or the Lady?), but it was awesome. The exploration of the alien ship might have been hard to put on the screen, though. I love Janeway's statement to B'Elanna at the end of the story, "Sometimes the bear gets you." LOL

The stories were good and some were dead on when it came to how the characters would talk exactly. I can't remember them all but from what I do remember, any one of them would have made a great episode (or webisode if the 'net was capable enough in the mid-late 90s)
