Best. Comic. Book. Endings. Ever.

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Which comic book story endings satisfy you the most and left you with laughs, tears, a plain old "feel good" ending, or all of the above?

"The Wake," in particular the actual story about the funeral, is really beautiful. Reading it, I feel like I'm participating and waking from a dream. The other three stories in the TPB are also very nice. I've got a soft spot for Hob Gadling, and I was glad to see he kept going. I would've been disappointed if he had followed his melodramatic friend into death.

Stand-alone Amazing Spiderman- Tale of a Gun

Xmen- Days of Future Past

Kammandi (#20?)- The Legend

Marvels

Detective Comics- Haven

Without my collection in front of me that's all I can think of...

Will Payton Starman issue #35 written by Keith Giffen. Issue title
"Back to the Fuchsia"

Funniest. single. comic. storyline. ever.

Kara Tu Dikat.

Watchmen

I love the endings for Enigma and Death: The High Cost of Living, which were, incidentally, two of the first Vertigo miniseries.

For short stories, the 80s Batman story To Kill a Legend. Now THAT'S an ending. Night of the Stalker too.

Marvel:The End. After a horribly derivative first three issues where Starlin plagiarized himself, the last three issues were a rather contemplative look at theology in the Marvel Universe and the consequences of the ultimate deceiver and destroyer Thanos, himself being deceived into saving the universe. The Adam Warlock appearance was typical gratuitous Starlin, but when Death finally spoke to Thanos and kissed him it was rather poignant.
