A few days ago, Clint celebrated his 80th birthday, capping a decade of directing strong films well past the age where most creative types have retired or completely burnt out. Indeed, one could very easily argue it was his strongest decade as a director yet; likewise that he may be the world's most consistently quality current director (he's definitely in the top ten). Nine films, three Best Director nominations, three Best Picture nominations (winning one apiece, to bring his lifetime total to two each; plus the Thalberg), and a second Best Actor nomination.
Currently, he's filming a supernatural drama with Matt Damon and Bryce Dallas Howard; can't wait.
Of the nine, I voted for Gran Torino. For my money, he should have gotten a Best Actor nomination for that film, and I think it will go down as a very significant entry in Eastwood's filmography; it's essentially his Unforgiven for the urban vigilante genre (the other half of his early success).
The only one of them that doesn't really work is Blood Work (Space Cowboys isn't on the same level as the others either, but it's what it sets out to be, good fun).
