Benedict Cumberpatch should be a Time Lord

Wasn't Cumberbatch one of those under serious consideration for the eleventh Doctor? I can't remember if he was offered the role and turned it down, or not. In any case, if it was between the two they certainly chose the right one. :)

Cumberbatch for 12?

Mark

He turned it down. He didn't want his face plastered on lunch boxes etc etc.

But we do now have a new TimeLord called The Corsair that Neil Gaiman has kindly added to the canon. And he (or she) will be looking for an actor...
Except isn't he (or she) dead now like the others House lured? Auntie was using the Corsair's arm, and weren't some of his internal organs distributed elsewhere?

Dead now, but, might not be dead 10 years ago, and the Doctor is a Time Traveller

When we watched Sherlock, me and my brother both agreed that we wanted him to play the Doctor; my brother because he thought he'd be good and me because I thought he'd be good and because he has a funny name.

And I think Matt Smith is really good. I still prefer Tennant but IMHO he has lived up to the role and to the task of replacing such a well loved actor. I've always thought Eccleston is a brilliant actor, but I thought he was miscast as the Doctor. I thought he was playing it a bit too heavy. Having said that, there were some moments when I thought he was excellent. The bit in The Parting of the Ways when he tricks Rose into the Tardis then sends her back to Earth, for example.

Smith is terrible and I still have no idea why he was cast, I'd have loved Cumberbatch as The Doctor - superior actor in every way.

We get it. You don't like Smith. A lot of us do.

Sorry, I'm just getting really sick of the Smith bashing. I think he's quite good.

Cumberbatch would be awesome (and the Doctor would finally be ginger!), but it will never happen. Especially now that he's known best for Sherlock.

Tennant was known for Casanova before he became the Doctor.

I just thought he was good. Smith is ok but I don't like the stories he's been given (similar to how I view a lot of Troughton's material).

And I'd never ask him to be replaced; we've only got two left!

I read that, but there is another interview which can be found on youtube where he says he wouldn't do a guest appearance and stresses not as a guest role. But he might consider the Doctor.

^When I saw that pic at cheezburger, I had to caption it with that. Unfortunately, I forgot my password and it's shown as annonymous. It got a lot of votes, though!
