Benchmark Your Web Browser

Found this on Futuremark's site, they now have a Web Browser benchmark they are in Beta testing.

I just upgraded to IE8 today and wanted to see if it was faster than IE7 that I had before. I actually have 3 browsers on my PC, FireFox, Slimbrowser and now IE8.

Here are my results in order from fastest to slowest:

FireFox 3.0.7 - 713
IE8 - 496
SlimBrowser - 405
IE7 - 294


My System specs of relevance:
Core 2 Quad @ 3.8GHz
4GB DDR3
8800 Ultra
Vista x64


So it looks like IE8 has improved upon performance, however it still doesn't come anywhere near the performance of FireFox. Out of all the browsers, so far it looks like Safari is the fastest.

I was having problems with Firefox 3, crashed all the time, and towards mid day, slowed to a crawl if not stopped for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. I never had these problems with FF 2. Using chrome now much better.
