I'll be the minority opinion here. I preferred him with the full head of hair. To me, the shaved head seemed too contemporary.

Has nothing to do with the beard, but what was strange was that he seemed to have ballooned up the moment they introduced the First Contact uniforms, and he suddenly looked much older.

No it isn't. Chuck Norris is a bad ass while Robau is a punk who got owned by time travelling Romulans. If Norris was in command of the Kelvin we would have had the shortest Trek movie ever made.

Definitely bald and bearded. Brooks was never comortable with the look the powers-that-be forced on him for the first few seasons. He quite clearly became more comfortable in the role once he had more say in his own physical appearance.
